Management of Kumasi Asante Kotoko met the technical team of the club on Thursday in a no-holds-barred encounter at the club’s secretariat where there was unanimity over the need for an immediate change to the fortunes of the club.
The meeting which is a customary activity after every official match where the head coach justifies the squad chosen, tactics and changes made in the immediate past match had a special touch this time around.
This time, it was attended by the whole technical team instead of the head coach and his assistant. It was also characterized by an atmosphere which permitted unprecedented introspection and soul-searching into what has hit the club this season, leading to an accumulation of a paltry 8 points out of a total of 21 points.
There was a general consensus that new players recruited had not fully settled into the team’s scheme of things and that our 3-year annexation of the league title had made us easy targets for opponents.
That not withstanding, management and the technical team agreed that the club is big enough and well-resourced to turn the situation around into winning ways and with prompt effect.
