Ghana goalkeeper Adam Kwarasey did not train with his colleagues at Portland Timbers on Thursday due to a tight hip injury.

The 27-year-old spent the entire work-out session stretching out his hip with a trainer on the side of practice.

Tight hips experienced by a sportsman are usually an indication of missing hip flexion or lacking hip mobility.

“He just had a little tight hip, but nothing major. He’s 100 percent, but it’s a little bit tight, so we’re just trying to protect him a little bit,” Timbers coach Caleb Porter told Oregon Live.

“These two days, it’s almost like a reset a little bit and then we get back to work on Monday, so we didn’t want to push it,” he added.

Kwarasey had to be replaced in training by another goalkeeper from their academy team to fill out the numbers in training Thursday.
