Lufthansa Staff Support Kinder Paradise


Lufthansa and Help Alliance have raised 2,500 Euros to support Kinder Paradise, a non-profit organization that takes care of children and youth on the streets of Accra.

Help Alliance, the aid organization founded by staff of Lufthansa, has been providing financial support to Kinder Paradise since 2006.

It has supported the building of a Kindergarten at Prampram, a computer lab and outdoor facilities such as a playground and sports fields for the orphanage.

In addition, Help Alliance has funded the acquisition of vehicles for the organization and has supported the annual budget of Kinder Paradise.

Help Alliance celebrated 10 years of cooperation with Kinder Paradise School, with the airline’s local management and flight staff attending the event at Prampram to mark the milestone.

Kevin Markette, Lufthansa General Manager in Ghana, who was speaking at a special ceremony to celebrate the partnership said, ‘We have served Ghana as good corporate citizens for almost five decades, and it’s a privilege for Lufthansa, together with our crew, to support and fund projects in Ghana such as the Kinder Paradise School, which we now celebrate 10 years of successful cooperation.’

He said Lufthansa staff have devoted their time and resources to act as project managers to raise funds for Kinder Paradise.

Iris Sandoff, a Lufthansa Purser said, ‘We are overjoyed to take part in this anniversary celebration marking the accomplishments of these children and extremely proud at Lufthansa staff’s decade-long involvement in this unique project.’

Silke Roesner, Founder of Kinder Paradise, expressed appreciation to Help Alliance for their benevolence over the years.

The Help Alliance was founded in 1999 by staff of Lufthansa to effectively support numerous projects that existed at the time.

Since then, the organization has supported more than 100 projects around the globe. All of these are run with Lufthansa staff acting as project managers.

They link the local aid organizations with Help Alliance that is based in Frankfurt in Germany.

The Help Alliance depends entirely on donations from motivated staff of Lufthansa.
