Afriyie tough: Acquah passes Sampdoria medicals

Allsports.com.gh can exclusively reveal that Afriyie Acquah is a Sampdoria player, it is official.

The 23 year old Ghana international passed medicals at the Laboratorio Albaro on Thursday morning after arriving in Italy following participation at the just ended 2015 Africa Cup of Nations with the Ghana national team.

Acquah signed to join Sampdoria on loan from Parma for the rest of the season on transfer deadline day when he was still in Equatorial Guinea with the national team.

The player was in Germany after leaving Ghana on Tuesday evening to attend to his wife, Amanda who was involved in a motor accident last week.

Allsports.com.gh can again exclusively report that Acquah’s wife is now talking and even able to walk but the doctors are still monitoring her for one-month to determine whether she would need surgery in the spine or not.

“Yes, he is very happy with the wife’s condition now. He’s fully ready for Sampdoria’s away match to Chievo Verona in Serie A on Sunday,” Acquah’s agent Oliver Acquah told us from Italy.

Acquah is expected to be unveiled as a Sampdoria player to the club’s fans later today.
