Hearts 1-2 New Edubiase: Nuhu Brothers show Hearts class in Accra

Hearts of Oak inconsistent form in the ongoing First Capital Plus Bank Premier league continues as they were beaten 1-2 at home by New Edubiase in match day 7 on Wednesday at the Accra sports stadium.

Herbert Addo made 1 change to his starting XI that beat Asante Kotoko in Kumasi while Anthony Commey maintained his starting XI that beat Wa Allstars 3-2 at home.

Hearts of Oak in the early stages of the game were sluggish in all the department of the field of play as they find things difficult in winning the midfielder battle with New Edubiase winning all the the 50-50 balls.

New Edubiase who has been a strong force in the game looks the fearsome team on the field of play with their inter-positional play and high pressing football.

The uninspired Hearts of Oak started picking their acts together as in the 22nd minute the first convincing attack from the Phobians came with a 1-2 ball exchange between Richard Yamoah and Thomas Abbey but the end result of Abbey went over the bar.

New Edubiase strategy in the game is to keep the ball safe which worked to perfection as the glorious opportunity fell to the away side in the 27th minute but the connection from Bernard Ofori failed to beat Seidu Mutawwakilu in post for the Phobians.

In the 42nd minute of the game New Edubiase registered the first goal after Alhassan Nuhu beat Shaun October with his pace to slot home with a neat curler.

2 minute later Fuseini Nuhu who happens to be the twin brother of the first scorer scored the second goal after a miscommunication between Seidu Mutawakilu and his central pair as the first half ended 2-0 advantage the away side.

From recess New Edubiase nearly fetched the third goal but an acrobatic safe by Seidu Mutawakilu kept the scoreline 2-0.

The Phobians pitched camp in the final third of their opponent with an intense pressure but failed in reducing the deficit as New Edubiase shot stopper Iddrisu Salia was at his his best.

However, the ferocious attack from the Phobians paid off in the 79th minute when Nti Mensah deflected Shaun October’s cross into his own net to leave the score 1-2.

The home side began looking for the equalizer  but the defensive network of the away side dealt with all the dangerous attack to end the game 1-2 with New Edubiase picking their first away points in the ongoing  season.
