Ghana captain Asamoah Gyan reveals rejecting ‘juju’ amulet to score goals

Ghana captain Asamoah Gyan has revealed he rejected an amulet offer to increase his prolificacy.

The Al Ain talisman was reacting to the Guinean player Abdoulaye Cisse who was exposed on live TV for having a charm or talisman around his waist which was expected to help him during the match.

Gyan says he turned down an offer when he was playing in the juvenile league.

“When I was at the colts level. He was like: ‘Take this and you’re going to score more,” the former Liberty Professionals ace said on Starr FM.

“There are people who believe in those things, for me I don’t believe in it but it exists.”

Gyan is Ghana’s all-time leading scorer with and at the just ended Africa Cup of Nations, he equalled Reverend Osei Kofi’s total of seven Nations Cup goals

At the 2014 FIFA World Cup finals, he became Africa’s all-time scorer with seven goals.
