Bobby Brown’s lawyer has lashed out at “false reports” surrounding the declining health of the singer’s daughter, Bobbi Kristina, vowing to take legal action against the worst offenders.
The ‘My Prerogative’ hitmaker’s only child with ex-wife Whitney Houston has been under doctors’ care since January 31, when she was found unresponsive and face down in a bathtub at the Roswell, Georgia home she shares with her partner Nick Gordon.
She was placed in a medically-induced coma and the latest reports suggest family members have agreed to turn off the 21-year-old’s life support on Wednesday, February 11 – the third anniversary of her mother’s death.
However, Brown’s lawyer has since blasted the rampant speculation and called out a number of publications for spreading inaccurate claims, without specifying what is true and what is not.
In a new statement, the embattled singer’s lawyer thanked the hundreds of well-wishers who attended a prayer service in Bobbi Kristina Brown’s honour in Atlanta, Georgia on Monday, February 9, but condemned the false reports flooding the Internet.
The legal representative rages, “The false reports that continue to appear in print and on the internet are egregious, false and will be dealt with at an appropriate time. In particular, the false reporting of Tmz, The National Enquirer, The Atlanta Journal Constitution and the Daily Mail (UK) citing, police sources, family sources and Bobby Brown himself, will receive my attention.”
He adds, “The desire to be ‘first’ has clouded the judgment of many reporters as they forgo accuracy. This is a criminal investigation and the integrity of that process requires silence.”
Singer Bobby Brown also suggests his daughter’s prognosis isn’t as grim as has been reported, adding, “We continue to request privacy in this matter. We thank everyone that supported the vigil for Bobbi Kristina. God is hearing our prayers.”
