Think twice: Sarfo Gyamfi advices Kotoko to withdraw from Africa

Sarfo Gyamfi has stated that the performance of Kotoko is nothing to write home about, following their 0-1 loss to Hearts of Oak on Saturday at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium, so should avoid competing in the CAF Champion League.

The Porcupine Warriors will enter into the first round of the premier African Clubs competition after earning a walk-over at the preliminary stage, following the decision of Lions of Sierra Leone to withdraw from the competition.

The ex-Black Stars player thinks Kotoko is not well prepared for the CAF Champions League, hence should quit participating in the competition to avoid embarrassment.

‘Kotoko were doing well during the pre-season, but when the league began their performance has been poor.

‘They need to stay away from the CAF Champions League because they can’t make any impart looking at their current situation,’ Sarfo Gyamfi told Metro fm.

However at the moment, it is too late for any club to withdraw, because such a decision will call for a ban.

The league champions have won two games, lost two and drawn 2, after match day 6 of the first Capital Plus Premier League and will face Ashgold at Obuasi on Wednesday in another tricky encounter.

Kotoko were knocked out of the 2014 CAF Champions League by BYC of Liberia at the preliminary stage.
