GYEEDA bill finally passed by Parliament

Parliament has finally passed the new Youth Employment Agency bill.

The bill which seeks to create over 100,000 jobs for the youth, was twice deferred by the House over legislation deficiencies.

Starr News’  Kobby Gomez Mensah reports that the bill was passed by a voice vote Tuesday.

He noted also that Minority Leader Osei Kyei-Mensah Bonsu had raised concerns over the state of the bill before passage, but it was passed nonetheless.

President John Mahama is expected to sign the bill into law within seven days.

The new GYEEDA Bill, according to Labour minister, Haruna Iddrisu will make the youth oriented programme more robust and efficient.
