This year’s Adelaide-Fringe Festival is going to be a very spectacular with the inclusion of Edem.
The Festival which pulls over 1.5 million folks across the world converge in Adelaide, Southern Australia would have the African Rap Mogul, Edem, do a hyper version of his stage magic on them with a “well structured performance they have never seen before” (as explained by Edem himself).
The Adelaide Fringe is the largest annual arts festival in the Southern Hemisphere, held in the South Australian capital of Adelaide. For 24 days and nights during February and March; over 900 events are staged in pop-up venues among others. The festival is celebrated annually since 1960.
Over 4,000 artistes from Australia and across the world will be performing before 1.5 million visitors across the globe.
The energetic Ghanaian Rapper (Edem) would not only be performing at the Fringe Festival. He is also billed to perform at other notable venues as part of a tour for his latest studio album “Books & Rhymes” – released in November 2014 and has won about 5 awards for that album already.
Below is his stage itinerary;
• February 18, 2015 – performs at Nexus Cabaret.
• February 19, 2015 – performs at Lions Arts Center.
• February 20, 2015 – performs at Morphet St Adelaide.
Following the gigs (above) would be other lined-up concerts in other parts of Australia. Edem would be playing gigs in Melbourne, Sydney and other cities till March.
Also performing on tour with Edem would be Obour (Bice Osei Kufuor) MUSIGA President.
When Edem hit the market with his first single in 2006, most people doubted him as to whether he will survive in the music industry taking into consideration language barrier and other challenges but he proved it that when it comes to music, he’s among the best in Africa.
His first maiden album which was produced by “Last Two” came as a surprise to the world especially Ghanaians. Almost every single song on the album was a hit.
“Mass Production” his second album defines what it takes to be called versatile artiste. He got nominations, wins awards and performed almost every big show organised in Ghana.
Edem does all genres of music including Reggae, Dancehall, Afrobeats, High-life and hip-hop.
According to the Volta Regime Music Group governor (Edem), it took him hardwork, discipline, focus, humility and prayers to get to where he is today.
Fans should expect nothing but a thrilling performance from Edem. The show was put together by Aussie-Ghana Organization (Ghanaians living in Australia).
