The National Chairman of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), Mr Kofi Portuphy, has directed all party members in the Ashanti Region who are dissatisfied with leadership in the region to seek redress through appropriate structures of the party.

Mr Portuphy gave the directive at a meeting in Accra last Friday when he met some feuding members of the party from the Ashanti Region to discus issues generating disagreement among members.

The meeting also discussed issues meant to enhance development of the party in the region.

In recent times, party members have taken to the airwaves, calling for the removal of the Ashanti Regional Minister, Mr Samuel Sarpong, whom they accused of running a ‘one man show’ and not involving the party executive members in taking decisions concerning the party in the region.

According to a statement signed by Mr Solomon Nkansah, National Communications Officer of NDC, that had led to some members of the NDC in the Ashanti Region expressing disagreement and dissatisfaction with some party issues and decisions in the region.

The statement said it had also resulted in accusations and counter accusations among members of the party in the region.

The meeting, the statement said, therefore, encouraged members to follow the party’s laid-down rules to seek redress and resolve issues.

The statement said the National Chairman directed that accusations and counter-accusations in the region should cease immediately, warning that any member who flouted the directive would be dealt with by the party leadership.

The chairman, according to the statement, cautioned party members against acts that had the potential to cause disaffection and disunity in the party.
