Michael Essien and Sulley Muntari gave a glimpse of an old Black Stars midfield combination as the two Ghana internationals were given a starting place in the Italian Serie A.
AC Milan travelled to play Kwadwo Asamoah’s Juventus in a mouthwatering clash that ended with Michael Essien and his midfield partner Sulley Muntari being on the losing side.
Carlos Tevez opened the scoring for home side Juventus with Luca Antonelli leveling for Milan moments later. Champions Juventus however scored again via Leonardo Bonucci to take the home side 2-1 up into the first half interval.
Alvaro Morata scored the only goal in the second half as AC Milan were beaten 3-1 by Juventus in Saturday’s game.
Sulley Muntar and Michael Essien played in the entire duration of the game with Essien receiving a yellow card booking in the first half.
Kwadwo Asamoah is still recovering from an injury and did not play a part for his Juventus side.
