Editor-in-Chief of the New Crusading Guide newspaper, Malik Kweku Baako Jnr. says the 50th anniversary of Dr. J.B Danquah was to ‘glorify him beyond reasonable doubts’.

According to him, calls by flagbearer of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), proclaiming forgiveness for the Nkrumah’s for acts which is said to have been committed against one of Ghana’s foremost politicians J.B Danquah, including his incarceration and ultimate death in prison was in the right direction.

Nana Akufo Addo proclaimed the forgiveness on Wednesday 4th February, 2015 while he led a lecture to commemorate the 50th anniversary of Danquah’s death.

Dr J.B Danquah, a founding member of the United Gold Coast Convention (UGCC), died under atrocious conditions in the dungeons of the Nsawam Prisons where he was kept on suspicion that he was plotting to overthrow the Nkrumah-led government, under the Preventive Detention Act.

But speaking on Joy FM’s Newsfile program on Saturday, the editor-in-Chief of the New Crusading Guide newspaper said criticisms of the Convention People’s Party (NPP) lashed out to the NPP leader is baseless.

He said “J.B Danquah did his best for Ghana and so if he is being appreciated, I see nothing wrong with that.

“Yes, I am a CPP man, but I think my people were too quick to judge. I have no difficulty as far as the lecture was concerned, but I think the criticisms were not handled with a lovely sensibility.

“There are more literature that needs to be known about this great man called JB Danquah and so he really deserves it,” he indicated.
