The patron of Ashanti sports Dr. Alhaji Mumuni Yusif Caesar has charged both sports and the education ministry to partner and initiate comprehensive measures to package both sports and academic work in the various schools.
According to him, sporting activities should not be ignored in the school going period since it has a good impacts on the children life.
He observed that, education is not all about academics alone but rather combines physical activities that could help enhance some individuals capabilities.
The patron and the CEO of M.Y ventures a health care clinic, and the producers of Dr. Caesar liner green tea Dr. Alhaji Mumuni made these remarks when speaking at the official opening of the 2015 Ashanti region schools and colleges athletics competition at the Kumasi sports stadium.
The 2015 athletics competitions was made up of five zonal meetings and one super zonal meeting.
Speaking at the ceremony, Dr. Caesar indicated that, “the competition is aimed to afford the educational authorities the opportunity of evaluating and assessing their practical teaching of physical education in their various schools”.
“This annual event offers a platform for sports authorities to unearth talented sportsmen and women among our students so that, they can be trained to represent nationally and internationally acclaimed sporting figures”. He added.
Dr. Caesar charged the sports and the education ministry to collaborate and channel effective measures to bond sports and academic works together.
He advised students to not leave aside academic works but rather take their learning seriously. He said, binning both sports and learning could effectively enhance their carrier.
He appealed to companies, corporate bodies and individuals to sponsor schools sports events, since such kind gesture will help develop sports in the country.
