An octogerian native of Sefwi Wiaso, Mr G K Attah Ahinkorah is appealing to government to consider creating a new region out of the Western Region to be named Sefwiman Region.
According to him the area deserves a regional status due to its large geographical acreage and the fact that it abounds with numerous commercial cash crops and other natural resources.
Mr G.K. Attah asserted that Sefwiman is made up of very notable towns such as; Wiawso, Bibiani, Bekwai, Enchi, Boodi, Adobokrom and Akotombra which serves as the largest Cocoa basket for the entire country.
He also stated that natural resource reserves such as timber, gold, bauxite, manganese and fudstuffs abounds in the area and therefore deserves to recognize with a regional status.
The octogerian, alias the Great Nelson Mandela claims that despite the fact that, Sefwiman was bigger than the Upper East and West regions combined, they each have separate regions hence must be made a region.
He urged the chiefs and people of Sefwiman and all well-wishers to rally support for the creation of a new region for Sefwi to enable it benefit from its share of the national cake.
He said his motto is Nokware Nkoaa Na Meka.
