Kwaw Ansah heads FESPACO jury as Akosua Adoma’s ‘Kweku Ananse’, NAFTI nominated

90 films from some of Africa’s revered filmmakers will gather in Burkina Faso from February 28 to March 7 for the 24th edition of the Pan-African Cinema and Television Festival of Ouagadougou (FESPACO).

Award winning filmmaker Akosua Adoma Owusu’s ‘Kweku Ananse’ is shortlisted for the short film category while the National Film and Television Institute (NAFTI) are also up for two awards in the Africa Cinema Schools category.

This year’s event is under the theme ‘African Cinema: Production and Distribution in the Digital Era’.

Each trophy won comes with a cash reward of 20 million FCFA.

Celebrated Ghanaian filmmaker Kwaw Ansah is the head of the 2015 jury.
