Israel Embassy Calls On DAILY GUIDE

A Delegation from the Embassy of Israel in Accra paid a familiarisation visit to Western Group, publishers of DAILY GUIDE , on Monday.

‘I am happy to be here to first and foremost introduce myself to your company, tell you about our Embassy and the work we do and I also want to know about your work as well as build a cooperation that would pave way for more fruitful relations between the Embassy and Western Group,’ Yohav Katz, Deputy Chief of Mission at the Embassy, explained.

Mr Katz was accompanied by the Embassy’s Public Diplomacy Coordinator, Seth Owusu Mante Jnr.

The delegation was received by the Chief Executive of Western Group, Gina Blay, and the Editor of DAILY GUIDE , Fortune Alimi.

Mrs Blay took the visiting team through a brief history of her company, during which she disclosed the paper’s ideology, human resource capacity, circulation and future prospects.

Mr Katz recounted the cordial relationship his country has maintained with Ghana and traced its genesis to 1957 when the latter gained political independence from British rule.

He spoke extensively about MASHAV, Israel’s Agency For International Development Cooperation, and gave a tall list of the Agency’s ongoing projects across Ghana.

The Deputy Chief of Mission said MASHAV has a training programme for a wide range of professionals including journalists, and encouraged  DAILY GUIDE to take advantage of the facility.

‘We want to build a working relationship with the media because we consider the media as a major player in democracy,’ he added.
