‘Ayew will score, Wakaso will score’: Sammy Kuffour predicts right again

Sammy Kuffour is smiling again after the former Ghana deputy captain predicted correctly again goal scorers for the Black Stars at the Africa Cup of Nations as the legendary defender gradually builds his clout as a football prophet.

Fresh from getting it on the spot that playmaker Christian Atsu will score in the quarter final against Guinea which came to pass, Kuffour was once again spot on with his predictions before the semi final clash against the hosts in Equatorial Guinea 2015.

“We are winning again and this game I believe Ayew and Wakaso will score. We are going for the trophy, no doubt Equatorial Guinea will fall,” he had said on live TV just before the game.

And once again Kuffour got it right as Wakaso and both Ayew brothers scored even if he was only referring to Andre in his prediction as the Black Stars earned a sweet 3-0 win against the hosts.

After Ghana triumphed and he thus won his latest banter that he will shave his hard on live television should the Black Stars falter, Kuffour wasted no time in extending his bet into the final, vowing to still shave his hair and induce himself in double agony should the national team fail to beat Ivory Coast in Sunday’s final.

“Tell your producer to bring the barber in because in the final we are going to win against Ivory Coast, if we don’t win I will shave my hair,” Kuffour challenged the host of Supersport’s AFCON 2015 presentation on DSTV.

“We’ve gone to the final  how many times yet we haven’t won the cup since we won our 4th title. For a very long time the people who won the cup in 1963, 1965, 1978 and 1982, the government promised to give them something but never gave them. this people have always been bitter in their hearts,” Kuffour recounted history.

“Luckily last year, the government was able to give this people something and now I know their hearts have softened, and now look at this team that nobody gave a chance they are in the final. I believe we are going for the cup,” the former Bayern Munich defender said full of conviction. Follow @thedonplato
