GPL Match Report: WAFA pip Medeama SC in Sogakope

West Africa Football Academy, WAFA recorded their second victory of the Ghana Premier League after a 1-0 win over Medeama SC at the Sogakope Park.

The Volta Region based club started the game impressively and made early incursions onto the Medeama area.

Both sides had chances to open the scoring, but failed to make use of the opportunities they created for themselves.

WAFA came closer in the 37th minute through Gideon Mensah, but he dragged his effort. Neither side could score before the referee blew his whistle for half time.

It was all square in the second half with great end to end action. Medeama SC used their experience and took control of the game, but were undone by Zakaria Mumuni strike with six minutes to play.

Medeama huffed and puffed for the equaliser, but WAFA held on to their second First Capital Plus Bank premier league win after five matches.
