Despite the growing skepticism among Ghanaians over how soon the energy crisis would end, government is assuring citizens that the problem will go away sooner than later.
The Minister of Communications, Edward Omane Boamah announced on his Facebook page that President Mahama will embark on a working visit to the Akosombo Dam today [Thursday].
He admonished Ghanaians to bare with the government and that they are working assiduously to solve the challenge.
“Be patient in the face of the difficulties. Relief is on the way. Government acknowledges and shares in your pain. Short and medium term measures being implemented will ensure that the Egyptians that we see today, we shall see them no more as the book of Exodus puts it,” he said.
This is the second time the President has embarked on a similar working visit this week to ascertain the cause of the worsening power crisis and put in place measures to address it.
President Mahama on Tuesday paid a working visit to the Sunon Asogli Power Plant, the Cenit Thermal Power Plant and the VRA Thermal Plant all located at Kpone, near Tema.
During his visit, he expressed confidence that Ghana would make it out of the current energy crisis it is experiencing.
He noted that some key power plants in the country would soon be back on stream to compliment the ones in operation.
