A pressure group that calls itself “Disappointed Youth of NDC crossing over to NPP” held their first annual conference in Ho of the Volta region with members pledging to throw an unflinching support behind the flagbearer of the opposition New Patriotic Party, (NPP) Nana Akufo-Addo.

The group that started their campaign in the region at the latter part of 2014 said they now have branches across the country with the three Northern regions yet to be covered.

According to them, the crusade was motivated by what they described as “loss of confidence in the ruling National Democratic Congress (NDC).”

According to the founder and leader of the group, Robert Tettey-Fio Adjase, the decision to cross carpet to the opposition NPP was because the ruling government has been “insensitive” to the plight of citizens, especially the youth.

“The Mahama government has been a wahala and total disgrace to this nation. As a pressure group we are very much aware of the dealings of the NDC government and it’s about time we distanced ourselves from the party.”

According to them, a government led by Nana Akufo-Addo whom they described as “a humble and incorruptible gentleman,” could rescue Ghanaians from the deep economic crisis.

“The only party that can relinquish the dreams of the masses of this nation is NPP and we believe in no other person than Nana Akuffo-Addo.”
