Methodist Church On A Mission To Shape Students


The Methodist church of Ghana Ebenezer society Bantama in Kumasi joined students at OSEI TUTU Senior High School and other second cycle institutions, in the capital as a means of extending salvation messages to them as part of efforts to shape their moral upbringing.

The Ebenezer Methodist in Bantama partners the school entertainment board to join the studentโ€™s normal Saturday entertainment show with praises and worship.

The step, forms part of it youth in evangelism program, aiming at getting the word of God out to these students in the senior high schools, at their door step.

The church youth evangelical team, coupled with the praises and worship crew, rocked the schools grounds with hot and inspirations gospel tunes, delivered God’s word that ends leaving hundreds of students surrender themselves to Christ.

Rev. Ebenezer Essuman Quarbo leading pastor who led the team explained that, “the youth in Evangelism, Wesleyan divine outreach is focusing to preach the Word to students at the second cycle institutions”.

According to him, is a unique method of joining the students in their entertainment shows, but with a prior motive of imparting God’s words unto them, whiles entertaining with them. He said, the SHS are often places where most of immoral acts found among the youth today are rooted.

He observed that, most of indiscipline behaviors among most student’s are often cultivated from the secondary level. He cited occultism, lesbianism and gay as examples, that should not be encouraged.

Rev. Essuman, added that is time religious bodies voice out against such practices saying that, will help reduce the act and put the student’s and the youth on track.

He said, the program started last year 2014 with four schools, of which OSEI TUTU is set to begin these years, program.

Speaking at the program Rev. Essuman advised the students to desist from unacceptable acts and depend their lives on God. He said, SHS is a place where their life in the educational channel truly begins therefore, needs unique characters to pass through.

He added that, “without God, nothing you could do to succeed in life and Christ must seek to lead and direct your path”

After the whelming benediction by rev. Essuman, over 105 students gave themselves to Christ on spot. He urged them to hold their faith firmly in Christ, for there will be greater reward for those that are in Christ.
