Match Report: New Edubiase fall in Tema to Inter Allies

Inter Allies continued their impressive start to the league at the Tema Sports Stadium when they welcomed New Edubiase on match day five of the First Capital Plus Bank premier league in  Tema.

The ‘Eleven Is To One’ started the game with alacrity and almost scored on the 3rd minute of the game when Sheriff Mohammed forced his way through with a powerful drive but Nasir Lamin intercepted.

They dominated play and their second chance arrived on the 10th minute when Niare Benogo was fouled in front of Edubiase box by Samed Iddrisu. The resulting free kick went inches wide.

It was all Inter Allies after about quarter of an hour. The visitors sat back soaking the pressure from the ‘Eleven Is To One’.

The visitors, New Edubiase, were almost punished for taking so long to warm themselves into the game after half an hour when Lord Ofosuhene found Prosper Kasim around the penalty area, Prosper beats his marker but shot way wide.

With Inter Allies looking the more purposeful team, they forced Edubiase to make silly challenges; Anabila Abdul Latif was booked in the 40th minute for a foul on the ever torturing Lord Ofosuhene. The resulting free kick was well taken by Niare Benogo, and Sheriff Deo Mohammed made no mistake to power his header past Arthur.

Fabin’s boys held on to the break with their noses in front. 

New Edubiase changed their approach in the second half; they attack more, but were stunned four minutes after recess. Sheriff Mohammed Deo grabbed his second of the afternoon to keep Inter Allies in the driving seat for all three points. 

Edubiase looked lost and had no answers to Inter Allies probing questions. Their real opportunity to get back into the game fell to Nuhu Fuseini with quarter to the end proceedings, but his effort from close range.  

Anthony Kommey boys were frustrated and went for clumsy challenges, match day referee, Timothy obuobisa did not hesitate to book Iddrisu Yahaya for an unnecessary tackle on Simon Martey after he rounded him on the 85.

Asamoah George was also cautioned in the 87th minute for challenge on Malik Jahiru. 

Sheriff Mohammed almost grabbed his third on injury time, but he fired wide and Inter Allies match on to win 2-0.
