With the weekend’s super clash against rivals Hearts of Oak in sight, league holders Asante Kotoko have been forced to rest four key players from their FCPPL mid-week game.

The decision to rest these players on the mend from various knocks in their 1-0 win over Inter Allies last week stems from the need to present a very strong team for the all-important derby in Kumasi on Saturday.

Asante Kotoko will travel to Wa to face All Stars in a match day 5 fixture and will have to grind results without Ahmed Toure, captain Jordan Opoku, Christopher Bonney and goalkeeper Joseph Addo.

According to our sources, Toure is being rested to fully recover from minor tooth surgery.

Goalkeeper Joseph Addo who sat on the bench in the last game is suffering from pains in his wrist while Jordan Opoku and Bonney are still not ready for game time on Wednesday.

Stephen Oduro, Isaac Amoako, Abdul Latif Amadu and Richard Oti have been roped into the travelling squad for the All Stars game.

Asante Kotoko 18-man squad to face All Stars:

Eric Ofori Antwi, Eric Donkor, Atta Kusi, Abeiku Ainooson, Amos Frimpong, Jackson Opoku, Frank Sarfo Gyamfi, Kwadwo Poku, Obed Owusu, Ohene Brenya, Michael Akuffo, Richard Mpong, Prince Baffoe, Dauda Mohammed, Stephen Oduro, Abdul Latif Amadu, Richard Oti, Isaac Amoako
