He’s done it again: Bright Addae scores for second straight game in Italy

Bright Addae’s goal scoring instincts playing in the heart of midfield these days is paying off big time as the former Ghana youth defender netted for the second consecutive game to lead his side, Ascoli to a come-from-behind 3-2 win at San Marino Calcio on Monday night.

Addae, on loan at third tier Ascoli from Serie A side, Parma netted in the 51st minutes to bring Ascoli back into the game at bottom side, San Marino who had taken a shock 2-0 lead at halftime.

Italian forward, Christian Altinier would go on to equalise and bang in the winner as Ascoli ran away 3-2 winners to nick another three points in their push for automatic qualification to Serie B.

The victory means that after 23 of the 38-match 2014/15 season, Ascoli increase their points tally to 44, three clear of Teramo and Reggiana in Lega Pro Group B where only the top finishers gain automatic slot into next season’ Serie B whilst the 2nd and 3rd placed sides go into a playoff with same positioned clubs in Lega Pro A and C for promotion.

The strike against San Marino Calcio was Addae’s second in two games and third overall this term after also finding the net in last week’s 4-1 victory over Tuttocuou.

The Ghana U-20 World Cup winning defender now plays in midfield and is clearly gaining grounds as he pushes to earn promotion for Ascoli before heading back to Parma or garner a more lucrative deal come end of season. Follow @thedonplato
