Asante Kotoko’s opponent in the first round of this year’s CAF Champions League, East End Lions of Sierra Leone have officially pulled out of the competition.
Kotoko’s Acting Accra Representative, Edmund Ackah confirmed to the club’s website that, the GFA has received a letter from the Sierra Leonean FA communicating their club has officially pulled out of the competition.
This was corroborated by Kotoko’s Acting Communications Manager; Kwaku Ahenkorah who stated that, East End Lions’ decision has been forwarded to CAF.
With this development, coming less than two weeks to the tie, indications are clear that, Kotoko would advance to the second round of the competition without kicking a ball.
