‘Dumsor’ will be over in ‘shortest possible time’ -President Mahama


President John Mahama has promised that Government will resolve in the “shortest possible time”, the dreadful power supply which has become the source of daily frustrations for many Ghanaians.

In an attempt to assuage the distress of consumers, the President expressed confidence that plans to install power plants will ensure that consumers will not be “finding ourselves in this situation again.”

Consumers have frustrating tales to tell about how erratic power supply has wrecked their plans, while businesses moan of increasing production costs due to their reliance on generators.

The Minister for Power has had to plead with consumers, urging patience because “daybreak” is closer than many believe .

Adding his voice to what is becoming a growing call by government officials for patience, President Mahama told workers at Tema that he “can understand how Ghanaians feel.”

According to the President, Government’s plan to bring in 1000megawatts through power barges, new power generation agreements and by bringing on stream the Asogli power plant among others will cure the daily inconvenience for good.
