Bag Containing 1,000 Condoms Shuts Down Bus Station After Being Mistaken For Bomb


A bus station in New York City was locked down after authorities found a bag containing 1,000 condoms which was mistaken for a bomb. The New York Police Department said that the incident happened at the George Washington Bridge bus station in Manhattan on Friday night. 256 Club reports:

Police officers of the Port Authority, found the bag unattended behind a separate lane barrier adjacent to the doors of a waiting room around 5:00 p.m.

The canine unit of the Port Authority police arrived to inspect the package for explosives, but no bomb was found.

After the bag was cleared and opened, officers discovered about one thousand individually packed men and female condoms of different brands and styles.

No one has come forward to claim the bag. Pedestrian and vehicular traffic was diverted for a short time while investigators were examining the bag.
