Unity Bank has informed the Nigerian Stock Exchange about the appointment of Thomas A. Earth and Alhaji Aminu Babangida as Chairman and Vice Chairman respectively, effective 23 January 2015. Aminu is the son of former military dictator, Ibrahim Babangida.
Alhaji Aminu Babangida is a business tycoon. He is the co-founder and Chief Executive Officer of Phoenix Energy, Abuja. He is also a team member of the El-Amin International School, Minna. Babangida was appointed to the Board of Unity Bank PLC in 2011 where he has held the position of chairman and other posts in a number of board committees including the Audit Committee, Credit Committee, Strategy Committee and Information Technology.
Thomas Etuh has diverse working experience part of which he gained from over twenty years of contribution to the public and private sectors of the economy, especially the Agric sector. He was appointed Pioneer Vice Chairman of the Board of Directors, Unity Bank Plc on April 22, 2014. Etuh has been a Director in several companies in Nigeria and has chaired different board committees in Unity Bank including Finance and General Purpose Committee, Board Governance and Nominations Committee amongst others
