The Black Stars will today leave Mongomo for Malabo for their 2015 AFCON quarter- finals encounter on Sunday after their gallant display last Tuesday in their group game against South Africa in Mogomo.

The Ghanaians finished on top of Group C beating Algeria and South Africa and losing their first game against Senegal.

According to the initial schedule, the team that would emerge top of the group was expected to stay in the relatively small town of Mongomo to continue its campaign.

However, the organisers have decided that the remaining matches should be played in Malabo and Bata, compelling the Stars to move to Malabo.

The pitches at the Mongomo and Ebebiyin stadia were developed only December last year few weeks after Equatorial Guinea decided to host the tournament after Morocco, the original hosts, pulled out.

The two facilities have caused injuries to some players, compelling the organisers to move the quarter- final matches from the two venues.
