“The opposition New Patriotic Party (NPP) will never win any clean, free and fair election in the country”. This is according to a member of government communication team, Eric Ametor Quarmyne.

According to him, statistics from the opposition party’s stronghold, Ashanti region in 2004 shows that the party always rigged any election it had won.

“In most constituencies in the Ashanti region, the statistics shows that voting turn-out is over 120%” he claimed.

Ametor Quarmyne made the comment while commenting on the NPP’s call for comprehensive audit of the voters register due to the massive irregularities it detected during the presidential election petition.

This, the opposition party believes, will guarantee the credibility of the 2016 general elections.

But Ametor Quarmyne on Asempa FM’s Ekosii Sen programme Monday said the NPP has no moral right to call for an audit when they are champion ‘election riggers’. He indicated that though the NDC is not against an audit in principle, the NPP should not be the ones to champion it.

The NDC man noted that the NPP always make such ‘dirty noises’ when they know for a fact that they will lose the election.

“NPP has never accepted any voters register unless they win the election” he added.

Ametor Quarmyne is convinced given the unprecedented achievements of the Mahama-led administration, 2016 election will be a cool chop.
