Black Stars skipper Asamoah Gyan has vowed to fight ‘blood and soul’ to ensure Ghana qualifies to the quarter final stage of the ongoing Africa Cup of Nations in Equatorial Guinea.

The Black Stars will play the Bafana Bafana of South Africa in Mongomo Tuesday evening. Ghana needs to win to ensure their qualification from the group which also contains Senegal and Algeria.

Gyan, who missed Ghana’s first game against Senegal due to illness, returned to score the only goal for the Black Stars against Algeria.

Speaking at a press conference Monday, Gyan said, though he is not fully fit; he is ready to sacrifice for the nation.

“I am here to die for the nation, though I am not fully fit but mentally am strong for the task ahead,” Gyan said, adding “our success against South Africa will depend on the players on the field”.

The Black Stars will play South Africa Tuesday while Senegal engages Algeria to determine which two teams qualify from Group C.
