Adamawa Assembly Confirms Ex-Rep As New Deputy Governor

Adamawa State House of AssemblyThe Adamawa House of Assembly has confirmed the nomination of Sa’ad Tahir as Deputy Governor of the state.

The confirmation followed the nomination of Mr. Tahir by Governor Bala Ngilari in a letter sent to the Assembly.

The House confirmed the deputy governor on Monday during plenary session presided over by the Speaker, Ahmadu Fintiri.

Motion for the confirmation of Mr. Tahir was moved by Ishaq Bala​(PDP, Yola North) and was seconded by the Deputy Speaker of the house, Kwamoti Laori.

The appointment of Mr. Tahir, a former member of the House of Representatives for Yola North/ Yola South/ Girei federal constituency,​ came three months after Mr. Ngilari took over office as substantive Governor of the state.

The House at Monday’s plenary session, also confirmed Sali Mohammed and Tahir Shehu as commissioners, while the third nominee, Timothy Vimtim, was rejected.

This is the second time that the House is rejecting the nomination of Mr. Vimtim as commissioner.
