Witty NDC General Secretary Johnson Asiedu Nketia has dismissed claims that his decision to wear his wife’s winter coat in Germany during a recent trip with President John Mahama has caused a reputational damage to the country.

According to him, members of the main opposition NPP are pushing such claims to score political points.

The former MP has been the butt of jokes on social media after pictures of him surfaced wearing the feminine fur coat.

He has been caricatured and mocked at in many ways following the fashion faux pas.

Some social commentators have accused him of causing disgrace to the country with his mistaken choice of fashion.

But reacting to the claims, Mosquito, as Nketia is also known, told Adom FM Monday that the claims are baseless and trivial.

He added that those writing such things in the media about him have nothing to do with their time.

“…No, no, no, whoever is doing that perhaps has nothing to do with their time or maybe has an agenda for what he or she is doing.

“Whatever is written by the BBC or CNN is done by human beings so if people are writing such things here, similar can be done by those international media houses too, they are all done by human beings” he said.
