FG Plans To Ban P0*n Sites – NSA

P0*n

The National Security Adviser, Col. Sambo Dasuki (rtd.), says the Federal Government plans to introduce a law to ban and block all P0*n websites in the country.

Dasuki said this at the closing ceremony of a three-day workshop on use of social media organised for Islamic preachers, Imams and youths by the national body of Izalatil Bid’a Wa’iqamatis Sunna (JIBWIS)in Kaduna on Sunday. The workshop was aimed at correcting anomalies in the use of social media.

“Government is planning to ban and block websites that inculcate negative attitudes in our children but we need a law to support such move,” Dasuki, who was represented by the Minister of Special Duties, Alhaji Kabiru Turaki said.

“Because without a law, people can go to court and claim infringement on their rights.”

He urged preachers to avoid the use of unguided utterances against leaders, saying preachers were not politicians, but they must play politics.

Speaking at the workshop, Kaduna State Governor, Muktar Yero stressed the need for credible people to join politics in order to contribute their quota toward sanitizing the system.

He cautioned people against the use of social media to blackmail others.

Yero called on Muslims to be united and intensify efforts on prayers toward violent-free elections.

The National Chairman of JIBWIS, organiser of the workshop, Sheikh Abdullahi Bala-Lau, appealed to the Federal Government to do everything within its power to avoid bloodshed, especially in the North-Eastern sub-region.

He also urged leaders in the country to ensure equity, justice and fair play in leading Nigerian citizens irrespective of their religious affiliation.
