Asante Kotoko Players Celebrate

The third round of matches of the First Capital Plus Premier League continues this weekend with some uncompromising pairings at the respective league centres across the country.

The spotlight, however, will be on the Sunyani Coronation Park where Coach Frimpong Manso’s B.A. United welcome his former club Kumasi Asante Kotoko in a battle for supremacy. Kotoko have over the years found B.A. United a hard nut to crack and tomorrow’s clash would not be any different.

And with Frimpong Manso shepherding B.A. United on the field of play, Kotoko could find themselves in a tight corner since he knows the Kum Apem club in and out.

Equal attention will also be on the Obuasi Len Clay Stadium where leaders Ashantigold face a difficult task against Berekum Chelsea despite their clean record. Chelsea’s 4-2 win over Hearts of Oak last Wednesday could send some shivers down the spines of the Obuasi lads who are difficult to beat at home.

Disappointed Accra Hearts of Oak will try to make amends against Medeama SC at the Accra Stadium this afternoon after their woeful performance against Chelsea.

As a result, Coach Herbert Addo is expected to map out a formidable strategy which will see the likes of skipper Robin Gnagne, Thomas Abbey, Emmanuel Hayford, Owusu Bempah and in-form Gilbert Fiamenyo and others giving of their best against Medeama.

With the heat of the competition already intensifying, Kpando Heart of Lions, who lost 3-2 to Great Olympics in Accra last Wednesday, will fight hard to avoid the wrath of their fans as they travel to Dormaa-Ahenkro to challenge Aduana Stars in a tough battle for both sides.

In a similar vein, New Edubiase’s game at the Essipon Stadium in Sekondi against Hasaacas could be a daunting task. Hasaacas have so far proven to be a serious title contender, giving them the upperhand over poor starters, New Edubiase.

At the Tema Park, Inter-Allies play host to Liberty Professionals, while Wa All Stars welcome Bechem United to the Wa Park.

WAFA will also host Olympics at their Sogakope base.
