McCarthy awaiting license to make GPL return with Olympics

Ex-Black Stars goalie, Philemon McCarthy, is awaiting his player license card from the Ghana FA to make his debut for Great Olympics in the Premier League, can confirm.

The Teshie-based side is expected to secure McCarthy’s card by next Friday before the second registration period is shut at the end of January.

The 25-year-old has been training with the Agosu club since December 2014 after he refused to pen a new deal with Hearts of Oak when his contract expired.

Great Olympics is occupying the 10th position on the Premier League standings with 3 points after losing 2-0 to Ashgold in Obuasi before claiming a 3-2 win over Heart of Lions in Accra on Wednesday.
