Music Is My Life – Raquel

A new year has begun and for many artistes, it is the right time to set new targets for the year and improve upon the previous years, and for singer, Raquel, this year is just “fruitful year to hit it big in her career”.

For the Sweetio singer who said music is her life, she had used the previous years to build a strong foundation for her music career and is hopeful she will yield the fruits this year.

In an interview with Showbiz on Monday, the silky singer said she had lined-up a number of shows as a means of giving her fans the “music piece in me”.

She said that she is currently preparing for her annual Raquel Cupid Party show which she holds on the Valentine’s Day of every year.

“Surprisingly, the Cupid show is five years old and those who have patronised the event since its inception will testify that the +233 place is one of the best places to be on Valentine’s Day.

“It is not just about music but teaching the patrons the right way to love and tit bits about my self – produced love doctrine,” she said.

Raquel, who has been embroiled in many controversies in the past said that she has moved on from the past and was hopeful for a bright future in her career.

Last year, the Lovi Dovi singer staged many shows including the Black & Bold show and a tour in some of the Tertiary institutions. Currently, she is working on the release of the videos of her songs, Ké Ha Me and Cool Down which she released last year.

The organisers of the Vodafone Ghana Music Awards (VGMA), Charterhouse, officially opened the process for the awards last year for musical works in the year under review and when Showbiz asked about her chances of winning an award this year, she was optimistic about it.

“It’s too early to start a debate about this year’s awards but I trust that the committee that will be selected will do a good and fair job,” she stated.
