Title holders, Kumasi Asante Kotoko, have every reason to avoid a second straight defeat, especially at home today against unpredictable Sekondi Hasaacas in their week two First Capital Plus League battle at the Baba Yara Stadium of all places.

The Porcupine Warriors stuttered on the opening day from a 1-0 shocking defeat to Aduana Stars at Dormaa-Ahenkro and, therefore, need a win badly to stabilise them and restore their title hopes.

After last Sunday’s setback, Coach Didi Dramani could not hide his frustration and hinted of his determination to claim the maximum points and begin the chase on their sworn rivals, Hearts, who benefited from a 1-0 home advantage over an inexperienced WAFA, albeit on neutral grounds.

Though tradition favours Kotoko, they still need to be wary of the deadly striking partnership between Frederick Quayson and Samuel Afful which secured Hasaacas a vital 3-2 victory over Liberty Professionals at Essipong on day one.

With three points already in their basket, Hearts storm the Berekum Golden City Park fully confident of a good result as Herbert Addo seeks an improved performance from his boys against dwindling Chelsea.

A match of contrasting fortunes, Chelsea will also fight hard for a home win to keep them in the competition after losing 0-1 to All Stars away.

Medeama have another tough assignment on hand even at home against All Stars at Tarkwa, while New Edubiase also face a tight duel with Aduana Stars at their new Obuasi home.

WAFA will have the comfort of using their Sogakope facilities against Ashantigold in a thrilling encounter, just as Great Olympics search for their first win at the expense of visiting Heart of Lions at their favourite Accra Stadium.

The clash between Bechem United and Inter-Allies at Bechem will be a close contest, same as the

Liberty Professionals’ home game with B.A.United at the Dansoman Carl Reindorf Park.
