A New Zealand man who had a metal rod stuck in his head during an attack drove himself to a petrol station, where CCTV cameras recorded him where he asked for help. UPI has more:
Witnesses said the Adam Armitage, 23, had blood streaming down his face and the metal rod protruding from the side of his head when he walked into the Caltex gas station in Katikati early Saturday.
“I was like, ‘Man is this a TV show? Is this guy for real?’” Caltex owner Lester Gray told 3News. “It looked like a Halloween stunt where people wear those Halloween costumes over their heads, but it was pretty real when he turned around and blood was coming down the side of his head.”
Witnesses said Armitage asked store workers to call police.
Investigators said the man was punched in the head and struck with the steel rod while his car was parked on a suburban street. Armitage then drove his car to the gas station to call for help.
