Asamoah Gyan Injury

Ghana skipper Asamoah Gyan has been ruled out of the Black Stars opening 2015 Africa Cup of Nations Group C match against Senegal on Monday due to a bout of malaria, sources have revealed.

Gyan’s absence means Andre Ayew would have to captain the senior national team against the Teranga Lions in Mongomo.

Avram Grant would have to choose two strikers from his remaining three attacking options; Kwesi Appiah, Mahatma Otoo and Jordan Ayew if the former Chelsea Boss decides to settle on a 3-5-2 system.

Meanwhile, the medical team led by Dr. Adam Baba is monitoring defender John Boye following an injury to the Turkey-based centre-back.
