The General Overseer of the Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG), Pastor Enoch Adeboye, on Friday, said he does not trust politicians as they hardly fulfill their promises.

Adeboye said this in Obafemi Awolowo University (OAU), Ile-Ife, during a two-day interdenominational prayer.

“I don’t trust politicians. Politicians are liars. They don’t fulfil most of their promises. A politician can tell you that they will give all of you (students) chicken each, which we all know it is impossible,” he said.

The comment by the man of God goes to further stress that he never endorsed the All Progressives Congress (APC) candidate Mohammadu Buhari, who has a pastor of the RCCG as his running mate. Yemi Osinbajo is [was] a pastor at the Olive Tree Parish of The Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG), Banana Island, Ikoyi, Lagos.

Adeboye, however, urged Nigerians not to worry over who would emerge winner in the next general elections as God,the master planner has already planned the leadership development of Nigeria.

“God has already planned who will be the President of Nigeria. God has already planned that before we were born. God is not like human beings who doubt what is to be done. He has plan for everything,” he said.

Vice-Chancellor of OAU, Prof. Bamitale Omole, lauded the RCCG General Overseeer for his annual presence in the university, saying the initiative was positively impacting the school.

“We appreciate the love of Pastor Adeboye. With God and his presence last year, we had no calamities and also emerged as the best university in Nigeria. I urge students to be prayerful and cautious of what they do as God will continue to protect us,” Omole said.
