Ghana striker Kwesi Appiah has heaped praise on his Black Stars’ teammates, saying the “players are extremely talented”
The Crystal Palace striker has spent the first half of this season banging in goals for Cambridge United down in English League Two.
So, it was a bit of a shock to see Appiah named in the Ghana squad for the upcoming Africa Cup of Nations – particularly with star names like Kevin Prince-Boateng and Sulley Muntari left out in the cold.
While grateful for his experience at Cambridge, Appiah admits Ghana’s stars are a galaxy away from the English fourth tier.
‘These players are extremely talented,’ Appiah said.
‘They are quality players. To train with them and see what they do day in, day out it only breeds confidence in me, makes me want to be a better player and learn from what they do.”
“I’m extremely grateful for the opportunity and I’ll take everything I can from it. Everyone has tried to make me feel welcome. As time goes by, everyone gets a bit more comfortable around each other.’
