The wait for Ghana’s most prestigious club competition is over as the First Capital Plus Bank Premier League 2014 / 2015 season kicks off this weekend at various league centers.
The Ghana Premier League is about four months behind time because of a court case between the Ghana Football Association and King Faisal FC.
The First Capital Plus Bank Premier League was scheduled to start on September 21, last year, but a petition brought before the FA by King Faisal Football club prevented that from happening; hence the late start of the league.
However, the new league season was launched on Wednesday, and Match day one of the 2014 / 2015 season will be in session at all eight league centers across the country with mouthwatering clashes.
Accra Hearts of Oak, are still serving a two home match ban from last season. The Phobians will therefore play host to WAFA on 17 January at the Kpando Park.
Defending champions, Kumasi Asante Kotoko, will open their title defense against Aduana Stars when they travel to Dormaa Ahenkro on Sunday.
Randy Abbey’s Heart of Lions will host Abdul Salam’s New Edubiase at the Kpando Park.
At the Essipong Sports Stadium Hasaacas will take on Liberty Professionals.
