The Ghana Premier League is a sixteen nationwide competition where each team plays a total of thirty matches in a home-and-away bases.
The region(s) with the highest number of teams in this year’s league are the Greater Accra and the Brong Ahafo regions with four clubs each. Greater Accra has; Hearts of Oak, Great Olympics, Liberty Professionals, and Inter Allies.
The Brong Ahafo region is represented by; B.A United, Berekum Chelsea, Aduana Stars and Bechem United. The Ashanti region follows next with three teams, (Asante Kotoko, AshantiGold, New Edubiase United).
Kpando Hearts of Lions and WAFA (formerly Fetteh Feyenoord Academy) represent the volta region whiles Medeama Sporting Club and Sekondi Hasaacas represents the western region. Wa All Stars is the only team from the northern region.
Three teams; B.A United, Great Olympics and WAFA are the promoted clubs from the Division One League. The league kicks off this Sunday, January 19 at all league centers.
