Don’t Drink Your Heads Off—Abrenyase Chief Cautions The Youth

The chief of Abrenyase community near Tanoso in the Kumasi metropolis of the Ashanti region, Oheneba Nana Kwabena Akyeampontia II, has cautioned the youth against excessive drinking, saying the practice hinders both personal and socio-economic development of a country.

According to him, people who cultivate drinking habits and make them their priority are mostly touted as aimless people in society who are without any focus in life.

Nana Akyeampim made these remarks, in an interview with ModernGhana during the launching of Alomo Silver Bitters brand, of the Kasapreko Company Limited (KCL), and the official commissioning of the company’s new warehouse in Kumasi.

He warned that though the warehouse was on his land, it did not give the youth the license to drink their heads off.

“There is nothing positive to achieve from excessive drinking of alcoholic beverages and getting drunk”, he emphasised.

The new product, Kasapreko Silver, is made of quality traditional herbs with a sweetening and minty flavour to help boost the immune system.

Some dignitaries who graced the event included, his royal majesty Asantehene Otumfuo Osei Tutu II, Ashanti Regional Minister, Hon. Dr. Samuel Sarpong, Dr. Kwabena Adjei, Group Chairman of Kasapreko company limited and some familiar faces of the Kumawood industry, Kwadwo Nkansah Lil Wayne, Bill Asamoah, Abeiku Santana of Okay FM and Hiplife Musician, Nana Boro among others.

Nana expressed his appreciation to the management of KCL for opening the warehouse on his land saying it will be of immense benefit to the community and the youth, in the area of job creation.

He was confident that with the creation of jobs, the rate of armed robbery in the area could be reduced.

“I would also like to humbly appeal to management of KCL to employ my youth in the community in order to help reduce the high level of unemployment and economic hardship in the area.”

Nana Akyeampim pledged to support the company with any kind of assistance where need be.

On his part, the chief technologists of KCL Mr. Edwin Ofori Lartey, a Botanist speaking to ModernGhana said, the company uses modern scientific ways through research to produce their goods.

He was worried about the many alcoholic drinks on the market, stressing that they may have side effects on the human immune system when taken.

I would like to take this opportunity to advise the public to be mindful of the kinds of drinks they consume since it may have side effects on their health status.
