Contract extension: Richard Mpong extends Kotoko stay

Asante Kotoko winger, Richard Mpong has officially extended his stay with the Porcupine Warriors for another year.

The former Medema SC winger contract with Asante Kotoko was expected to run out on August 1, 2015 but on Wednesday afternoon at the club’s secretariat in Kumasi, the  diminutive winger appended his signature to a new one-year engagement.

The acting General Manager of the club, Opoku Nti revealed the new engagement between the club and Richard Mpong to the club’s website.

‘Richard Mpong has renewed his contract for a year; that is the latest news in camp,’ said Opoku Nti.

Mpong, who joined Asante Kotoko from Medeama three seasons ago, has been an influential member for Asante Kotoko for the past years. He is however the third Kotoko player after Abeiku Ainooson and Michael Akuffu to renew his contract in almost a week.

Abeiku Ainooson sealed his deal last Thursday that of Michael Akuffu was done on Tuesday. The three players are part of Kotoko’s 25-man squad for the 2015 CAF Champions League.
