Missing again: God has bigger plans for me – disappointed Waris

The 23-year-old picked-up an injury three weeks ago during a league match andĀ  willĀ  miss the AFCON which starts in four days. Waris has a history of injuries and near misses before major tournaments. Writing on his Facebook page: ‘Sad I can’t make it to AFCON due to injury. I was looking forward to this but I know God’s plan for me is bigger than what I want. Destiny can always be delayed but can never be changed. I wish the team well,’

The Black Stars are in the group of Death (Group C) alongside Senegal, Algeria and South Africa and will kick off their AFCON campaign against Senegal on Janaury 19.
