Massacre: Kotoko, Hearts thrash opponents in friendlies


Kotoko showed their superiority over second division side Crystal Palace as they walloped them eight goals to nothing at the Adako Jackie Park, while Hearts of Oak defeated Crystal Palace by five goals to nothing at Akosombo.

Kotoko got their eight goals through Obed Owusu, who joined the club from Berekum Chelsea, Jordan Opoku, Richard Mpong, Sadat Wahab, Atta Kusi, Dauda Mohammed scored two goals and the last goal came from Elvis.

Hearts on the other hand gained an away victory thrashing home team Crystal Palace by five goals to nil at Akosombo.

Emmanuel Hayford got the curtain raiser in the 11 minute, before he doubled the scoreline in the 17 minute.  Gilbert Fiamenyo put his name on the score sheet in the 24 minute to make the scoreline three nil in favour of the Phobians and again added another one to make it four goals to nothing, with the new kid on the block Kwame Kizito sealing the doom of Crystal Palace in the 55 minute. 

The Ghana premier league commences on Sunday 18 January after going on hibernation since June. Kotoko will take on Aduana Stars at Dormaa, while Hearts of Oak will engage WAFA at Kpando due to 2-match home ban handed to the Phobians by the disciplinary Committee.
