Five people have been arrested in connection with the murder of a 10- year-old boy in Sissala East in the Upper West Region.

The boy, Kobby, was murdered by some unknown assailants when he accompanied his father and younger brother to the farm.

According to the Police, the eight-year-old younger brother of the deceased told his father that a man suspected to be insane came to the farm, snatched the deceased brother’s cutlass and dashed into the bush.

The police said they suspect the accused murdered Kobby for ritual purposes as his head, ankle, and right hand could not been found.

The five suspects, according to the police, were seen with body parts of the murdered boy.

Speaking to Citi News, the Upper West Regional Police Public Relations Officer(PRO), Edmund Nyamekye, said the suspects will be put before court.

“Five people have been arrested in connection with the murder, and they are being investigated and they will be put before court.

“The Police suspect foul play because the body was found without the head the right arm and the ankle and parts of the body so we suspect that the boy has been used for rituals,” Nyamekye said.
